Task Bar Hero Tier List

Rank every class by the work it must do. Progression and bosses reward survival plus focused damage; repeat farming rewards fast wave clear and consistency. One unexplained overall score would hide that difference.

Direct answer

Ranger is the best carry; Priest is the best enabler

Ranger earns S tier in both lists because safe, repeatable ranged damage fits bosses and long farming sessions. Priest shares S tier for progression because sustain and support let aggressive teammates keep acting, then moves to A tier when a farming route is already safe.

Sorcerer rises to S tier for farming because area damage removes grouped waves. Knight does the opposite: early frontline safety is useful for progression, but extra defense contributes little speed after a route becomes reliable. Hunter and Slayer add DLC options rather than mandatory upgrades to the free roster.

Ranking method

The list separates catalog facts from editorial judgment

Verified inputs

Hero role, weapon types, base statistics, skill relationships, unlock status, and the version attached to the published catalog.

Patch behavior

Official fixes are checked so a bugged freeze, Multistrike interaction, or tooltip mismatch is not ranked as intended class power.

Editorial inputs

Positioning, survival threshold, wave versus boss value, gear dependence, role overlap, and repeated-run consistency.

Base DPS is useful for a level-one comparison, but it cannot predict a complete account. A support effect, area skill, defensive threshold, or funded weapon set can change the outcome without changing that one number. Tiers therefore describe a goal and review version, not an eternal mathematical order.

Task Bar Hero class rankings

Ranged carry · Free

Ranger

Progression
S
Farming
S
Strengths

Safe ranged pressure, repeatable attacks and a natural carry role across multiple goals.

Limits

Needs the best offensive weapon and stat package; spreading those upgrades weakens the reason to use a carry.

Build Ranger first when the account needs one hero to receive the best weapon, attack speed and focused damage.

Support and sustain · Free

Priest

Progression
S
Farming
A
Strengths

Sustain and team support can turn fragile damage dealers into a stable three-hero route.

Limits

Support value falls when the selected stage is already completely safe, and fixed skill interactions must not be counted.

Use Priest to reach a survival threshold, then return new offensive resources to the carry instead of overbuilding defense.

Area damage · Free

Sorcerer

Progression
A
Farming
S
Strengths

Area damage and elemental skill options are well suited to dense waves and leftover targets.

Limits

A boss-only wall can expose lower focused value, and mismatched elemental gear dilutes the skill package.

Add Sorcerer when safe clears are slow because waves remain alive, then match gear bonuses to the chosen element.

Focused ranged damage · DLC

Hunter

Progression
A
Farming
B
Strengths

Adds controlled ranged damage and another boss-oriented carry option for DLC owners.

Limits

Requires paid access and a funded crossbow setup; fixed Frost Bolt and turret bugs cannot be treated as intended power.

Use Hunter after the core team is stable and the account can afford a distinct second damage package.

Knight

Progression

Farming
C
Strengths

Simple frontline safety makes early failures easier to diagnose and early progression more forgiving.

Limits

Once another hero survives the frontline job, extra defense may add little clear speed or boss pressure.

Start with Knight when deaths are the problem; replace or reduce investment only after the target route stays reliable.

Slayer

Progression

Farming
B
Strengths

A melee damage route can scale with dedicated gear and offers a different late-game experiment.

Limits

Melee exposure, DLC access and investment needs make the class less forgiving than the free ranged core.

Treat Slayer as a specialist build rather than the default answer for a new or undergeared account.

Use the list correctly

A tier is a starting point, not a command to rebuild

Keep a lower-ranked hero when it already solves the account's problem with good gear. Replacing a funded Knight with an undergeared Priest can make a progression run worse, even though Priest ranks higher in the general list. Compare the real survival and clear result before moving scarce materials.

Use the farming table only on a route that already completes consistently. If deaths interrupt the session, the progression list and a safer build are the more relevant references. When one boss is the wall, focused damage and support uptime matter more than the area clear that dominates ordinary waves.

Quick answers

Task Bar Hero tier list FAQ

Who is the best class in Task Bar Hero?

Ranger is the most flexible carry in this ranking, while Priest is the most generally useful support and frontline enabler. The better choice depends on whether the account lacks damage or stability.

Why are there two tier lists?

Progression and bosses reward survival and focused damage, while repeat farming rewards clear speed and consistency. One overall list would hide that Sorcerer gains value on waves and Knight loses value after a route is safe.

Are Hunter and Slayer pay-to-win?

They add options, but the free roster already includes the S-tier Ranger and Priest plus Sorcerer for top farming value. Paid access is not required for the recommended all-purpose team.

Is the tier list generated from base DPS?

No. Base data is only one input. Roles, skill behavior, positioning, survival thresholds, gear dependence and repeatable route tests all affect an editorial tier.

When will the rankings change?

The list is reviewed when an official patch changes class skills, caps or important gear interactions, or when reproducible testing shows that a placement no longer describes the current game.
